Our story begins in the post-war years, when a young boy, aboard small fishing boats, worked selling the daily catch in the city. Over time, experience, passion and expertise were passed down and refined, leading to an ever-growing specialization in the sale of shellfish.

Selling a product meant knowing it inside and out, recognizing its scent with eyes closed, and bringing out every single quality and characteristic.

And that’s how Ittica Buonocore was born: from the love of sea people who chose to live their lives not only on land, but also at sea, exploring new waters and unknown seabeds.

Our very first location was tucked into four small walls in the heart of Naples. Over the years, it became one of the city’s most important wholesale hubs for seafood, earning the trust of countless businesses and restaurateurs.

As demand and connections grew by the day, we traveled thousands of kilometers across Italy, reaching the country’s most sought-after ports to secure the finest local products.

And so, the young boy who once worked in the post-war years cast his net and built what today is a market-leading company, constantly evolving and embracing the latest technologies.

Today, our headquarters has expanded and relocated to a modern, independent facility at the heart of the local agri-food hub, recognized by the European Union as a Certified Shellfish Purification and Shipping Center, it stands as a key marketplace for the trade of outstanding seafood, local, national, and imported.
